PLAIN BULGUR PILAF(serves 10)
Ingredients
700 g coarse Coarse bulgur 125 g butter or margarine 6 cups (1.5 liters) water/ broth Salt
Recipe
Wash and drain the Coarse bulgur . After melting the butter or margarine in a pan, add the Coarse bulgur and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the stock and salt and bring to the boil. Simmer on medium heat until the Coarse bulgur becomes swollen. Turn down the gas and put the lid on the pan. Cook for 10-15 minutes more. Turn off the burner. Open the lid, place a paper towel on top of the pan and replace the lid. Let the pilaf rest for 20 minutes in this way. Mix with a wooden spoon or ladle taking care not to crush the Coarse bulgur . Serve hot.
